I grew up in New Orleans in a family of artists and went away to school in the Midwest where I graduated with a BA in Literature.

Before focusing on solo playing I was in a lot of bands and combos. I played electric bass and sang in the Iowa pop/rock band, The Proxies. We put out 2 albums, "Pretty as a Picture" and "Get Lucky" and performed in a lot of bars until the wee hours of the morning.

In 2000 I got together with some good friends and we made "Bowling Night", my first solo album. You can read some about it in the press section of this site as well as checking out the lyrics and soundfiles. And you can order it here.

In 2001 I travelled for about 8 months and ended up in California's Central Coast. Since then I've worked in an orchard, on a farm, at a cool little feed store in Goleta, California called Island Seed and Feed, with an awesome group called Wilderness Youth Project, and most recently with Quail Springs Learning Oasis and Permaculture Farm.

The new record, 14 Stories, is done! Hear a preview in the music section. Consider buying it! It helps keep these creative projects coming.

Another interest of mine is children and how they learn. I've illustrated and published a line of alphabet flashcards for children with the desire that learning to read be fun and imaginative.
